Lanaken is a village situated in Belgium (province of Limburg), near the natural borders of the Maas, approximately 5 kilometers from the centre of Maastricht (the Netherlands) and about 40 kilometers from Aachen (Germany).

The totale surface is 59.00 km². The population on 1 January 2007 was around 25.000 inhabitants.

Lanaken contains next villages : Lanaken, Rekem, Neerharen, Gellik, Veldwezelt, Smeermaas and Kesselt

Travel by plane:

Brussels Airport situated in Zaventem is the national airport and is about 100 kilometes from Lanaken.
It takes 1 hour to drive from there. From
Maastricht Airport it takes only 15 to 20 minutes.

Travel by train :

The nearest railway station is situated in Genk. If your train stops in Genk you can take bus nr. 45 to Lanaken.(Hasselt - Genk - Maaseik/Maastricht).

In Maastricht there is also an railway station. When you arrive in Schiphol - Amsterdam you can take a train at Schiphol Airport straight to Maastricht almost every hour (sometimes even 2 times an hour).
From Maastricht it takes only 15 minutes to get to Lanaken.
